A meal study found a glucose effect
Steamed nopal lowered the glucose response to a high-carbohydrate breakfast in a small diabetes study. Meal composition affected the response; this was not an exact premix-interaction study.
Capsule results were less clear
Another study found no acute glucose or glucose-tolerance effect from dried capsules. Usual glucose-lowering drugs were withdrawn in its diabetic crossover arm, so that arm was not combination treatment evidence.
Do not turn an average change into an event rate
Neither abstract identifies this premix or establishes a rate of clinically low glucose. Food and concentrated supplements cannot be assumed equivalent from the species name.
Review major food changes too
Discuss the exact supplement and amount with the diabetes team and follow your glucose-monitoring and low-glucose treatment plan. Do not change the premix dose yourself. Large dietary changes can matter to the meal plan as well as concentrated supplements.
