Terms of use

The purpose and limits of this reference service.

Information, not medical advice

SupplementSafety.org provides educational reference information. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or determine whether a supplement is appropriate for you. Consult a qualified health professional about personal treatment decisions.

Source scope and availability

The information available and its coverage limits are described on Sources & Coverage. It is not a complete inventory of every government action or every product on the market. A missing record is not evidence of safety.

Source information and status can change. Consult the original notice for current instructions and exact affected products, lots, and markets. Reference material is presented with its original scope and conditions.

Restrictions on Copying, Storage, Reproduction, and Commercial Use

Except as expressly authorized by these Terms, prior written consent of the relevant rights holder, or applicable law, you shall not, directly or indirectly, copy, download, extract, store, archive, reproduce, republish, distribute, transmit, display, sell, sublicense, commercially exploit, or create derivative works from any Protected Content, in whole or in part. You shall not authorize, facilitate, or assist any other person or entity to engage in such prohibited conduct.

FREE PUBLIC ACCESS DOES NOT GRANT PERMISSION FOR COMMERCIAL USE. Incorporation of Protected Content into a commercial database, dataset, publication, application, paid service, competing offering, or other commercial product or service requires prior express written consent, except to the extent permitted by applicable law. Attribution alone is not a substitute for permission.

You may view publicly accessible pages for informational purposes and share hyperlinks to those pages. This limited permission includes only ordinary browser caching necessary for viewing and use of accessibility tools for personal reading; it does not authorize systematic collection, persistent archiving, redistribution, or commercial reuse.

You shall not remove, obscure, alter, or misrepresent any copyright, trademark, attribution, or other proprietary notice. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits uses permitted by applicable law, including fair use and other applicable statutory copyright exceptions.

Prohibition on Bots, Scraping, and Automated Collection

Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, by applicable law, or by Evidbase Inc.’s prior express written authorization, you shall not access or use the website through bots, scrapers, spiders, crawlers, scripts, automated browsers, agents, data-mining tools, or other automated means to collect, extract, copy, download, store, reproduce, or otherwise harvest website content. This prohibition applies to bulk collection, repeated or distributed requests, and systematic manual collection.

You shall not circumvent, disable, evade, interfere with, or attempt to bypass any access restriction or measure intended to protect the website or its content. You shall not use collected Protected Content to create, populate, augment, or maintain any database, dataset, archive, competing service, or AI training collection without prior express written authorization, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Recognized public search engines are granted limited permission to crawl publicly accessible pages, retain copies reasonably necessary for indexing, and display ordinary search links and brief snippets, subject to published crawler instructions and access restrictions. This permission does not extend to bulk redistribution, reusable dataset creation, AI model training, or any separate commercial reuse of Protected Content.

Enforcement and Remedies

Evidbase Inc. reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate access for violations of these Terms, with or without notice to the extent permitted by law, and to pursue injunctive relief, damages, and any other remedies available under applicable law. Failure or delay in enforcing a provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other right.

Prior Written Permission

Requests for licensing, commercial reuse, automated access, or other permissions must be submitted to Evidbase Inc. through the Contact page and must identify the requested content, intended use, scope, and duration. No request is approved unless express written authorization is issued by Evidbase Inc. or the relevant rights holder. Silence, continued public availability, or the absence of technical restrictions shall not constitute consent.

Using the website

You may read public pages without an account. Please do not interfere with the service, attempt to bypass access controls, or submit sensitive health information through the contact form.

Source material remains subject to its applicable terms. Attribution to a government source does not imply that the agency endorses SupplementSafety.org or Evidbase Inc.

Publisher and external links

The publisher is Evidbase Inc. Advertising is labeled and presented separately from reference content. External government and other websites are operated independently.
