A human trial used other diabetes medicines
A small study added aloe gel to glyburide and metformin and found improved glucose measures. It reported no adverse effects in the abstract, but it was not an insulin-aspart trial and cannot establish the safety of that combination.
Glucose improvement is not proof of hypoglycemia
The study evaluated diabetes control, not an aspart-specific rate of dangerously low glucose. Insulin aspart already carries that risk, so adding a glucose-active product deserves review without presenting the interaction as proven.
Gel and latex are different
The evidence concerns oral gel. Latex can cause diarrhea, and whole-leaf preparations have a different composition. A topical product cannot be treated as the same exposure as an oral supplement.
Keep the insulin plan product-specific
Discuss the exact product and dose with the diabetes team before starting or stopping it. Follow your agreed glucose-monitoring and low-glucose treatment plan; do not adjust insulin on your own. NovoLog and Fiasp have different meal-timing instructions; an aloe study does not change them.
