What the garlic trial found

In a 12-week trial of people with uncontrolled hypertension, a standardized aged garlic extract lowered average systolic blood pressure more than placebo. Some participants took stable blood-pressure medicines. Responses varied, and the study did not establish excess hypotension specifically with indapamide.

Check the preparation

The study used aged garlic bulb extract standardized for S-allylcysteine. Food garlic, garlic oil and other capsules may differ. The amount of extract alone does not make two products equivalent, so give your pharmacist the full label and daily dose.
