What human research is available?

A randomized study enrolled 25 healthy volunteers for each herb and examined Curcuma longa alone and with aspirin in three-week phases. It found no clinically relevant overall coagulation impairment or significant bleeding. The accessed abstract does not provide enough formulation detail to apply the result to every turmeric supplement.

What about reports of serious bleeding?

A published case described a thigh hematoma after concentrated curcumin was added to apixaban plus clopidogrel. Why keep the names and forms separate?

Dabigatran etexilate is the swallowed prodrug. The body converts it to dabigatran, which directly inhibits thrombin.
