What exact-species information shows

University botanical safety information identifies common buckthorn fruit as capable of causing nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. It does not measure potassium loss or study torsemide users. That supports concern about gastrointestinal illness rather than proof of this interaction.

A related monograph is not interchangeable

Frangula bark has an explicit diuretic-related potassium warning, but it concerns Rhamnus frangula, also called Frangula alnus. It is not Rhamnus cathartica. Transferring the warning without stating the identity difference would overstate the evidence.
