Why sedation is the practical concern

Clozapine can impair alertness and coordination. Federal kava guidance advises against combining kava with substances that have sedative effects. This supports checking with the clozapine prescriber before use, while leaving the frequency and severity of this exact interaction uncertain.

Keep the liver claim separate

Rare serious liver injuries have been linked to several kinds of kava product. Clozapine also has a liver-injury warning.
