Can I take Ganoderma with Entrectinib?

Review Ganoderma with Entrectinib: absorption and effectiveness, preparation details, evidence limits, and sources.

The short answer

The evidence checked does not establish that Ganoderma supplements change entrectinib effectiveness or absorption. Have the exact supplement reviewed before using it during cancer treatment.

What this answer covers

The current supplement entry is Ganoderma at genus level. The original experiment studied Ganoderma lucidum, a specific species and solvent extract, not every Ganoderma product or human entrectinib co-use.

Supplement or preparation
Ganoderma
Medication ingredient
entrectinib

Check the exact treatment

This review concerns oral entrectinib in ROZLYTREK capsules or oral pellets for selected gene-fusion cancers. The medicine produces an active metabolite called M5. Follow the instructions for the prescribed formulation; a change in parent-drug levels does not automatically describe total active exposure.

What the supplement evidence shows

An original experiment used a dichloromethane mushroom extract in liver-enzyme tests and rats. Rat probe-drug exposure changed at the tested dose. These were not patients, and the solvent extract and dose cannot be equated with an ordinary reishi supplement or entrectinib co-use.

Keep enzyme effects separate from treatment outcomes

Entrectinib is sensitive to some CYP3A inhibitors and inducers, but potency and preparation matter. Clinical drug-interaction studies measured entrectinib and its active M5 metabolite separately. They do not demonstrate that this supplement changes cancer control, total active exposure or toxicity.

Review the whole product

Bring the supplement name, species, dose and complete ingredient list to the oncology pharmacist. Mushroom powders, spores and solvent extracts can differ. Do not use a supplement to boost treatment or invent a spacing interval; the team should assess the actual product.

Evidence and practical considerations

Absorption & effectiveness

The current exact-pair claim remains insufficient; drug metabolic susceptibility alone does not turn a botanical laboratory or other-drug finding into a measured clinical interaction.

Exact scope
The current supplement entry is Ganoderma at genus level. The original experiment studied Ganoderma lucidum, a specific species and solvent extract, not every Ganoderma product or human entrectinib co-use. with RxNorm 2197862 IN entrectinib. Current exact oral product: ROZLYTREK oral entrectinib capsules and pellets. Salt/formulation named explicitly; no transfer to unrelated drugs or routes.
Medication form and route
Oral

What remains uncertain

  • No exact entrectinib co-use clinical evidence identified. Rat/microsome experiment cannot establish human inhibition strength or bioavailability. Current genus-level entry does not verify the species in an individual product.

Factors that may matter: Exact oral formulation and supplement preparation; Drug exposure versus clinical outcomes; Dose, duration and other medicines; Individual monitoring plan.

Research conclusion: insufficient evidence · Evidence assessment: low

Population: Patients prescribed the exact oral formulation.

Avoid moderate/strong CYP3A inducers/inhibitors; parent drug and M5 exposure must be distinguished.

How this applies: RxNorm 2197862 IN entrectinib. Current exact oral product: ROZLYTREK oral entrectinib capsules and pellets. Salt/formulation named explicitly; no transfer to unrelated drugs or routes.

Exact current oral product source, not a clinical trial of every supplement. Formulation, dose, population and mechanism remain explicit.

Source 2: Original clinical research

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov · Source check Sep 10, 2026

Population: Healthy subjects and patients in separate clinical studies.

CYP3A inhibitors/inducers affected entrectinib and active M5 differently; parent exposure cannot represent the active sum automatically.

How this applies: Exact reported preparation, population and endpoints; transfer to entrectinib explicitly limited.

Original body; drug probes, not any named botanical, and exact experimental dose/form retained.

Source 3: Original preclinical research

pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov · Source check Sep 10, 2026

Population: Human liver microsomes and rats, not clinical participants.

Inhibited selected CYP assays and altered rat probe-drug exposure.

How this applies: Mechanistic lead only, insufficient exact clinical interaction.

Not entrectinib; solvent extract and animal dose not equivalent to marketed mushroom supplements.

Source 4: Medication terminology

rxnav.nlm.nih.gov · Source check Sep 10, 2026

Population: Terminology.

entrectinib is IN.

How this applies: Exact ingredient.

Not clinical evidence.
