What the experiments actually tested
In isolated dog veins, prazosin reduced contraction caused by Ruscus extract. Work in surgically removed human veins found differing receptor responses. These were tissue experiments, not people swallowing the combination, and they did not measure prazosin absorption or treatment failure.
What the monograph says
The European monograph for specified Ruscus rhizome preparations reports no interactions; its later assessment addendum did not identify a reason to revise it. This does not prove the combination safe, but it also does not supply evidence that prazosin stops working.
Match the reason and preparation
Bring the plant part, extract strength and any combination ingredients to your pharmacist. Rhizome medicines used for traditional venous symptoms are not interchangeable with every whole-plant supplement. No prazosin dose adjustment or spacing interval follows from the tissue studies.

Continue the prescribed monitoring plan and report unexpected BP readings, dizziness or worsening symptoms. Prazosin can cause postural hypotension independently. Do not increase it because a laboratory receptor finding suggests a possible interaction.
