The clearer concern is added drowsiness
Both DAYVIGO and prescription cannabidiol labeling describe sedation-related precautions. This supports reviewing co-use, especially with other sleep aids, without assigning a measured adverse-event rate to CBD plus lemborexant.
The blood-level evidence is mixed
One crossover study used a single high-dose CBD-plus-THC brownie and found increased exposure to the CYP3A probe midazolam. There was no CBD-only arm. In contrast, the EPIDIOLEX label reports unchanged midazolam concentrations with repeated purified cannabidiol. Neither study measured lemborexant.
Other inhibitors do not define CBD’s dose rule
Human lemborexant studies show sensitivity to strong and moderate CYP3A modifiers. Those results justify the label’s specific restrictions, but do not classify every CBD product as the same type of inhibitor or give its expected effect size.
Review the exact product
Tell the prescriber the CBD amount, THC content and frequency before starting or stopping it. Do not change DAYVIGO’s dose yourself or assume a short gap prevents sedation. Its label does not recommend other insomnia medicines; avoid driving while impaired.
