Diabetes studies measured glucose benefit
Small berberine studies reported improved glucose measures. Their abstracts do not establish a degludec-specific subgroup or low-glucose event rate.
A controlled study provides a limit
In healthy men, a single-dose clamp study increased insulin secretion during hyperglycemia but not under basal conditions, with no side effects reported. That does not establish safety during degludec treatment.
Benefit and harm are different outcomes
